The story

The notorious Doctor Drongo and his cockatoo sidekick Crackers have swiped every party treat and locked the lot inside a high-security vault, scattering the 4-digit code across six 'impossible' challenges. Chief Wombat of the Secret Operations Squad is assembling the best junior agents in the Southern Hemisphere. Their mission: crack the code, find the vault, and rescue the party.

About this quest

Operation Party Rescue is a complete print-and-play spy escape room built as six stations. The squad moves between them in any order — so ten kids are never queuing behind one puzzle — cracking ciphers, solving bush-detective riddles, decoding a flight map and reading a backwards message in a mirror. Four stations each reveal one digit of the vault code; the last reveals where the vault is hiding. You play HQ: sit at your desk with the answer key, initial correct answers on each Agent Log, and keep a straight face while Doctor Drongo's plan falls apart. A physical Laser Field challenge (wool or streamers across a hallway) burns energy mid-mission, progressive hint cards rescue stuck squads, and the finale is a real vault — any box with the party bags or cake locked inside. Four ways to play (one squad, rival squads, pairs, or covert mode), difficulty dials for younger and older agents, and a full answer key with bonus facts about huntsman spiders, platypuses and Uluru. Print one copy of the game, plus an Agent Log per agent — the kit prints cleanly in black and white on a home printer.

How the game works

  1. Print the kit once (plus an Agent Log per agent), cut out badges and party pieces, and put the six stations up around the party area — about 15 minutes.
  2. Read Chief Wombat's mission briefing aloud: Doctor Drongo has the treats and the clock is ticking.
  3. Squads tackle the six stations in any order, bringing answers to your HQ desk to be initialled.
  4. The Laser Field gets the whole squad crawling through wool "lasers" mid-mission; hint cards rescue anyone stuck.
  5. Four stations reveal the vault code, the mirror message reveals the hiding spot — enter 8-3-5-2… no, wait, that would be telling. Open the vault and rescue the party.
